Whether you're health conscious or not, Lytham's new Juice Club is a must visit for anyone with a fleeting interest in fresh drinks - and spin classes..

Three friends, Rebecca Morris, Sophie Lowe and Sarah Burgess opened the venture on South Westby Street a year ago. They already used the building for their spinning and yoga studio, Ride, and thirsty work made refreshing drinks a natural expansion.

The friends thought a smoothie, brunch and healthy food bar would work well with the studio and last year, the Juice Club was born. LancsLive went to visit the friends and the shop to see what it's all about.

Located in the heart of the town, the Juice Club is like no other place in the area. Despite never being too far away from a cafe or a bar in Lytham, no where quite focuses on the importance of healthy eating and the championing of good quality produce.

Rebecca and Sophie spent three weeks in Los Angeles which they cite as being one of the main inspirations for their menu and choice of what to sell within the shop. Sophie said: "We went to Coachella festival and the stands were bubble tea, Acai bowls so it was kind of inspired by the menus there."

On the boards in the shop were the delicious items up for grabs, all made from natural and organic ingredients. What immediately took our fancy was the Acai bowl - made from Acai berries, coconut and Agave, topped with granola, coconut, banana, chia seeds and Goji berries.

It was like a work of art rather than a meal but it was a true delight to taste. The best way to describe it was like an edible smoothie, a real summer in a bowl and perfect for a pick-me-up to start your day off right.

Their juices are made from natural ingredients, with the apple juice made with 100% pure pressed apples and no additives. As well as the Acai bowl, we also tried their 'G.L.O' juice, an organic drink mixed with carrot, turmeric, ginger, lime and orange.

Again, it's simply delicious and despite being packed filled with vegetables and healthy ingredients, tasted like a delicious sweet thirst quencher.

Sophie and Rebecca met through their joint business ventures, with Sophie also running a pizza van that she hires for private functions and events. She went to Rebecca's family business, Helical Technology on Dock Road in Lytham with the van and the two hit it off instantly.

Through a door of the Juice Club is where their 'Ride' classes take place. Sophie continued: "We've added loads of new classes, the spinning has 25 bikes and 24 classes a week. We have a class called 'Sculpt' which is like a hit class, going from the treadmill to floor and punch bags which is our second biggest class."

What is seemingly important to the girls is creating a sense of community and inclusivity through their classes. The room where the spinning takes place is dark which we were told helps anyone who may feel pressured of self-conscious in a gym or fitness setting.

Rebecca said: "We get people who just don't feel comfortable going into a normal gym. Friendships are created here too, one lady came in who was getting married the day after and she brought her wedding dress in to show everyone."

Sarah and Sophie started their 'Ride' business after coming back to the UK after living in Malaysia. They noticed that fitness industries in places in Asia were incredibly fast-paced and wanted to start a similar concept over here.

On 1 December 2018 they opened their first studio in Lytham with 15 bikes - eight were new and seven were second-hand which made quite a noise when the music was off. The business grew from strength to strength and in 2021, a new venue was opened in Whitehills, Blackpool.

It seems the entrepreneurial spirit runs through the family of the owners as Sophie Lowe's sister, Ella Lowe used to run a shop called 'BubbleLowe' before it became the Juice Club. It sold bubble tea - a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the 1980s, served in a variety of different flavours.

The business was extremely popular, making around 250 teas a day with queues outside the door every weekend. However, the 19-year-old owner decided to hand the reigns back over to her sister after not wanting to think about "vat and tax returns" until she's a "few years older."

Now, you may be thinking that was it for the friends but not only do they have a spinning studio and healthy bar in their shop, but through the help of Rebecca's sister, also offer massages. 'Ride and Relax' offers a 30-minute relaxation massage for £30, which is just one of the many things they offer - we don't know about you but we'll certainly be back to visit again.
